Frequently Asked Questions

We're eclectic; broadly focusing on the cars we love: pre-war to early '70's motorcars and newer exotics. But it's what you have or want that interests us most.

Since values can change rapidly we don't publish what we can't manage. PLUS, if a published price scares you away you'll never know if we have a half-priced sibling in the wings or the perfect alternative motorcar for you.

If you are simply shopping for the lowest-priced classic car available, you are likely not going to be satisfied at The Bay City Motor Company. We sell fine collector vehicles that are priced in line with their quality, condition, authenticity and documentation. We consider all these factors, market values and other variables, and price our vehicles accordingly. You will be able to find a car for less, and it will be a lesser car. We will happily discuss our cars' value with you and work to find a fair price for all parties.

If it is on the car and our cameras can get to it, we can send you a photo of it. Contact us about what shot or shots you would like, and we will get them to you as soon as possible.

We are a retail and e-tail store that physically looks a feels like an inviting, comfortable hands-off museum. Browsing is welcome. Stop in.

Absolutely! You and your inspector are welcome at The Bay City Motor Company any time. However, our cars are sometimes off-site or in an inaccessible part of our showroom.Contact us to make an appointment so we can ensure the car is here and ready for your inspection and test drive.

The Bay City Motor Company does accept select trades. While we prefer stock/original classic vehicles, we have dealer friends who might be interested in your motorcycle or late-model vehicle, too. Contact us about your proposed trade, and be sure to include details (year, make, model, equipment and history), photos, proposed trade value and which of our vehicles you are interested in.

The Bay City Motor Company does not provide financing services, but we can connect you with companies that do, including J.J. Best Banc & Co, and Woodside Credit. These companies generally require a 20 percent down payment and a credit score of 700 or better, although each circumstance is unique.

Transport cost varies based on a number of factors. Open? Enclosed? Timeline? Vehicle? Call us at (989) 891-0900 for an exact quote based upon your needs within one business day.

You are also welcome to arrange your own transportation.

Yes, The Bay City Motor Company contracts with shippers to send cars all over the world. We can arrange everything from the point of sale, provide U.S. customs the needed paperwork, and transport the vehicle to your chosen port. While shipping costs depend on many factors, we are happy to provide you with a quote. Simply contact us, tell us what car you are interested in and your preferred port of entry. We are also happy to work with the transporter of your choice.

We do not do retail appraisals. The kind of inspections we do take hours-to-days - not minutes-to-hours - and we're generally are not price-competitive. We can guide you to appraisers who are equipped for your needs.

We do private world-class restorations but we are not a retail restoration shop.

Being in Michigan we are geographically surrounded by some of the most amazing automotive talent on the planet. We're within 500 miles of over half the US and Canadian population and well connected for meeting your global needs including transport.
